Creating New Trends in Pampering
Fashion
CEBU, Philippines - As the number of high end salons saturates Cebu’s fashion highways, creativity becomes a major factor for success, after all the business of beauty is all about creativity.
When Nouveau Salon and Spa opened late last year, its target clientele was the growing number of high-salaried BPO workers. But according to its president and CEO, Regal Oliva, surprisingly most of those who have turned into salon regulars are some of Cebu’s social glitterati.
This was unexpected as the salon is located in a place that would attract young professionals as it roosts on the second floor of The Walk. In an inconspicuous spot, who would have thought that people who do not frequent the area and are not so familiar with the place would be the first to discover it?
The honest interiors of the salon, however, must have been the magnet – giant mirrors, luxurious chairs and furnishings, accenting an otherwise Zen-isque interior with its sterile black and white minimalist concept with just a dab of color or two.
And hardly hidden is a separate room for the spa and massage parlor where guests can take advantage of super relaxing spampering in a very quite and relaxing atmosphere. It is here also where they have placed a room for salon clients who wishes privacy.
This is what makes Nouveau a new concept in Cebu’s fashion and wellness circle. As most salons may offer some relaxation and pampering services, most of the time the treatment area is not separated from the salon, or if it is, one could still feel that he or she is still in the salon.
Nouveau, on the other hand, has created two separate places that complement each other. Customers at the salon can also take advantage of the relaxing aura of the spa should they wish to have their foot or nails be pampered in a tranquil place with its soothing background music and water-shadow lighting, that lends the calming properties of water to one’s busy mind.
Oliva said that for a long time now he has been thinking of coming up with a business venture, but as he noticed that Cebu really does not have a salon that bespeaks of total pampering, he thought of coming up with one. Thus, the birth of Nouveau.
At the spa, one could enjoy the healing touch of skin-contact through a variety of massage techniques, which, according to Oliva, he has invested through the training of his masseurs and masseuse in the finer arts of the profession.
“Most are chiropractic trained,” he said.
The salon, on the other hand, offers a variety of services that range from the simple and basic hair cut and nail jobs, to more complicated hair treatments and nail arts.
“Our stylists will invest so much time on you, making sure to address your needs and that the service is not haphazardly done,” he revealed, adding that his clients are those who spend time to be pampered.
“If you’re in a hurry, this is not the salon for you. If you want to rest and take time out to pamper yourself, then this is your salon,” he said.
Oliva suggests that clients call for an appointment at 505-3559 before visiting Nouveau. The salon and spa are open on weekdays, 11 am – 10 pm, and on weekends until 11 pm.
