So, I went back for my bottle of Pivo Praha
I just couldn’t help myself. I had to go back to Dauin Hot Spring and Beach Resort for my final dose of Pivo Praha before I leave back for Cebu later this month.
I believe it to be the best Philippine-made beer ever.
Very honest, rich, and outrageously delicious.
I love dark beer and San Miguel’s Cerveza Negra has always been my beer of choice, well, ok, Red Horse is still the beer I want to get wasted (the female beer, not the usual bottle that they sell, but the one that’s hard to find and comes in a bottle with slightly different design, we call it the happy horse).
Pivo Praha only has 4.5 percent alcohol and the manufacturers claim that its brewed European style. No preservatives and just honest good beer. They say its microbrewed, which they say is something like home-brewed, not like the factory beers that’s made with no love but by conveyor belt. For Pivo Praha, they make it in small batches at a quaint restaurant down in the country’s financial capital, Makati City.
In fact, its only available in the properties and restaurants of the person who brewed this beer, a certain Mr. Jimmy Bravo, no, not Johnny Bravo. And luckily in the Visayas, he has three properties, two in Negros Oriental (where I’m at) and one in Siquijor. Now, ain’t we lucky.
Surely, if visitors want to come to the Philippines for fun, this should be a reason to drop by in Dumaguete City, to taste Pivo Praha.
My favorite is the Dark beer, but they say that the German Weisner is also good. The Czech Light, well, it’s too diluted for me, and the regular Pilsener, well, let’s just say I go for Dark.
Cheers!

Oh and did I mention I met the wife of the owner of the resort. They arrived at the resort a few hours after me, so yeah it was not exclusive again. But she was so charming. She was with her brother and in-laws. She was there for the hot spring. We had an amazing conversation while I enjoyed my beer. She said that they make only a few of the beer by batch, which makes it even more delicious. She also said that her husband has started a magazine called Dayon! (Enter). I haven't seen it yet though I wonder what's their target market.

While I was there, I got bored and took some photos of the clouds...

Clouds, beer, hot spring, and sea... definitely #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines! #1ForFunPhilippines!

Your vacation resort looks incredibly peaceful.
I fixed my site rating. Don't know what happened. There's nothing explicit on it. Thanks for the heads up. My computer has been acting up alot.
What a beautiful place.
Wow, you totally do get around don't ya?
I would love to go to your beautiful country sometime in the near future.
I suppose that beer made you relax. At least you are not an alcoholic yet (J.K). So where are the dancing girls?
Came here due to seeing "Pivo Praha" in a post title on Top Blogs (anything Czech grabs my attention!) - I think it's interesting that it's not actually made in the Czech Republic
Have you ever had *actual* Czech beers? I think their beers are amazing.
I'd love a bottle of that
so beautiful
isnt pivo praha czech for beer prague? or better translated beer from prague?
how is it beer from the phillipines?
Exceptionally beautiful beach.
I don't like the taste of beer 'cause they're kinda bitter, but I enjoy Guinness Stout. I like the taste.
@sometimestheycomebackanyway - it is, since no one goes there... bwahahhahhaha
@ZSA_MD - please do Z... I'd be honored if you'd make me your host
@hesacontradiction - the beach was beautiful Ann... would have wanted to take a dip but the waves were too strong for me, and the sand, well, they're rocks mostly
@Grannys_Place - it was... but when there are other people, not so nice because the place is just so small (i think barely 1000 sq. meters) that it becomes crowded so easily...
@Cestovatelka - oh i haven't tasted Czech beer... the lady told me that this was brewed using the same techniques the Czechs use for their beer... must be why it tastes so different from the beer I'm used too...
@godfatherofgreenbay - me too
@canyuhearmeNOW - I have no idea... I don't speak Czech... well, Pivo Praha is simply the brand name... not necessarily that the beer is from the Czech Republic I don't think it would taste the same if it was imported because it won't be as fresh as when its made here
@DaKingfish - :)
@PPhilip - hahaha amazingly I haven't heard of any alcoholic Filipino...
@RestlessButterfly - this one was not bitter that's why i liked it i haven't tasted Guinness Stout though...
@DivaJyoti - being jobless gives us a lot of time doing nothing...
@tribong_upos - Just a few sips of Guinness Stout is good for blood circulation, too much of it gonna get to drunk and silly. Normally we (my dad, me and my brothers) shared a bottle of Guinness Stout just for our 'improved' blood circulation... =)
@RestlessButterfly - oh... i like that... i should look for one here...
I've never really liked beer because it is too bitter for my taste buds. Men are kind of required to like it, I wouldn't dare to express my feelings this openly if it wasn't for the topic of this post, which is home brewed dark beer. I went to a pub once in a small village in Europe, my friends took me, and of course we had to have beer. So, I ordered dark beer, because it is creamier at least, but this place turned out to be a small local brewery and their dark beer was almost sweet. I could drink it without frowning, which is huge for me. I bet I would love this Czech beer as well, but only if it's fresh and made nearby.
@male enhancement - though I'm betting you are spam, but thank you for the meaningful comment...
